Save Your Teeth with Root Canal Therapy
Eliminate Infection and Restore Your Health
Many patients visit us while experiencing a toothache, sensitivity or pain that travels to the head, jaw or ear. Often, this type of pain is caused by an infection within the tooth, which can cause permanent damage if left untreated.
If we detect an infection, our dentist, Dr. Nadine Al-Hammali, may recommend root canal therapy. A root canal is one of the most effective ways to remove infection and restore a tooth. Instead of being referred to another office, at Waterside Dental in Pinellas Park, you can receive your root canal in-house.
What is a Root Canal?
Root canal therapy in our office involves cleaning out the inner chamber of the tooth, to remove the infection.
We use special tools to access this chamber and clean out the canals to restore proper function of the tooth. We then fill the chamber with special materials that rebuild the tooth and prevent further infection. We can cap the tooth with a crown to restore its original function and appearance, if necessary.
The Importance of Root Canal Therapy
In many cases, immediate treatment is needed to prevent serious oral health issues. The infection can spread and cause irreversible damage to the teeth and gums if we neglect timely treatment. Losing the entire tooth may also occur if left untreated for too long. For those who experience dental fear or anxiety, our team offers sedation dentistry for a relaxed experience.
What to Expect
Dr. Al-Hammali performs root canals in-house so you will not have to worry about being referred out to an endodontist or other specialist. Whether you are a new patient or an existing patient in need of a root canal, you can count on us to repair and restore the tooth with minimal pain and discomfort. We work hard to make sure every patient visit is as stress-free and comfortable as possible.
